Our History
Dr. Paulin Bélanger founded Bélanger Optometry Clinic 80 years ago. Soon after, he opened his office at the corner of De La Salle and Ste-Catherine-East in 1943, in his native neighbourhood.
Bélanger Optometry Clinic has undergone several transformations to meet the ever-growing demand of its clientele. Today, the clinic covers an area of 8000 sq. ft., while maintaining its personalized approach. Bélanger Optometry Clinic distinguishes itself as much by the competence of its optometrists as by its services at the cutting edge of technology.

Dr. Jean Bélanger, Clinique d'Optométrie Bélanger's senior partner, obtained his doctorate in optometry from the University of Montreal's School of Optometry, where he also obtained an MSc in physiological optics.
During his work career, he has served as :
- A clinic manager at the University of Montreal
- A director and clinic manager at the Institut Nazareth et Louis Braille
- A speaker at several symposia and a board member of several organizations.
Dr. Bélanger currently focuses full-time on his practice at the clinic.
